The holiday recipes that we pass down from generation to generation are often baked goods that we look forward to year after year. Pies, cookies, cakes and more – special baked goods conjure holiday memories in the eating and also in the preparing. Each day this December we will explore baking traditions that are a part of the holiday table.

Do you have a favorite cookie, cake, or pie that your grandmother passed down? Do you have a great story about making a special baked dessert for holidays? Send in your best family recipe along with a story for why it’s special, and you could be a winner in Historic Deerfield's first Heritage Baking Contest!  Learn more
