Daily in July and August.

Early New Englanders relied on plants for food, medicine, and as raw materials. This summer explore Historic Deerfield walking in the footsteps of past residents who cultivated, used, studied and collected plants. At the History Workshop learn what an herbarium is, and practice pressing plants to make a lovely botanical keepsake. See plants growing in the Cooks’ Garden and make an herbal sachet to take home. Explore the museum using a printed Botanical guide, seeking plant-related connections in historic houses, exhibitions and grounds. Collect stickers along the way to receive a prize at the journey’s end.
