April School Vacation Week "Paper, Pen and Ink: The Tools of Letter Writing"

April 20, 2009 - April 24, 2009.
9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Each day of the vacation week, explore a different part of the letter writing process.

Monday, April 20: Make and take a sheet of homemade paper.

Tuesday, April 21: Experiment with a variety of different ink recipes and make some ink to write with.

Wednesday, April 22: Find out what it is like to use writing tools of the past including quill pens and slate pencils.

Thursday, April 23: Learn about the language of letters and fancy alphabets. Practice your penmanship.

Friday, April 24: Learn how to make an envelope, and seal it with sealing wax and a stamp.

Included with general admission.  Drop in anytime.
