Hot Beverages!: A One-Day Forum on Tea, Coffee, and Chocolate History

September 27, 20088:15 am - 6:15 pm

Visitor Center at Hall Tavern

Tea, coffee, and chocolate are very familiar to us today from drinking a cup of Lipton® tea, sipping a Starbuck’s® latte, or enjoying a cup of Swiss Miss®. Few people ever give thought as to where these beverages came from or how they shaped and influenced daily life in the past. Historic Deerfield will explore and celebrate the origins of these warm treats with a one-day forum titled, “Hot Beverages!: All about Tea, Coffee, and Chocolate in 18th-Century America” on Saturday, September 27. The cost of registration is $100 ($80 for members.) Registration includes three lectures, a hands-on workshop, all demonstrations and tours, a buffet lunch at the Deerfield Inn, and refreshments.
