Chocolate Pot

This tall, elegant chocolate pot, a rare form in American silver, has graceful, crisp proportions and minimal decoration.  The finial on top of the lid is removable and permits the insertion of a wooden chocolate mill or stirring rod.  Broad expanses of plain polished silver provide the backdrop for the focal point of the composition, the engraved coat of arms of Thompson impaling Deering (signifying a marriage between the two families).
