Travel back in time and rediscover the history behind the Patriots’ Day holiday and the “shot heard round the world.” Revolutionary times will come to life through demonstrations of period crafts and activities, fife and drum music, and a muster.
Nathan Hale Ancient Fifes and Drums, Knowlton's Connecticut Rangers and Buckland's Artillery play a lead role in the day's activities, re-enacting a military training day with activities including cannon-firing and musket drills. Historic Deerfield guides and cooks will interpret open hearth cooking and powder horn carving. Wagon rides will take visitors on a tour down our lovely street. The event will also have family-friendly food available. A complete schedule for the day will be posted closer to the event.
