Students will learn the basics of open hearth cooking including reading an 18th-century recipe, using math skills to convert the recipe to 21st century measurements, and measure, mix, and bake a dessert to enjoy with lunch. Included in the class is an exploration of the kitchens in the Sheldon House and working in the Cooks’ Garden. Bring a lunch from home. The baked dessert will use ingredients such as milk, eggs, and wheat.
