TUTOR, HISTORIC DEERFIELD SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

The David W. Dangremond Tutor position provides program support to the Director of the Summer Fellowship Program, HD staff, and mentors seven undergraduate fellows. The Fellowship Program runs for nine weeks over the summer from early June to early August, and the Tutor will need to arrive in Deerfield approximately one week earlier (May 27) for orientation and preparation and to stay a week after for Program wrap-up (August 8), constituting about 11 weeks on site. This position reports to the Director of Academic Programs. This is a non-benefit eligible position with compensation equal to $5,500.00 for the 11-week period; furnished accommodations and all meals included.

ACCOUNTANT

The Accountant in the Business Office is responsible for managing all aspects of accounts payable, cash deposits, corporate credit card program, and remittance of sales and use taxes. Additionally, the Accountant prepares account reconciliations, conducts analysis, and supports the Business Office with other accounting and administrative duties. Cross-trained to assist in human resources and payroll functions, this role is a key player within the Business Office team. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Administration. Pay rage is $20-28 per hour.

VISITOR SERVICES COORDINATOR

Are you passionate about helping more people to experience history, art, and material culture? Historic Deerfield, a museum of American history and art in Western Massachusetts, is looking for an organized, communicative, customer-service and sales-oriented Visitor Services Coordinator (VSC) to join their Museum Education team. This role has primary responsibility for group visits, ranging from large bus groups to K-12 field trips. The VSC is the regular on-site manager on Sundays, having overall operational authority for the museum that day. The VSC assists with the smooth running of the Museum Education Department. This is a management position suited to a confident, self-directed staff person eager to make a difference with a meaningful, nonprofit museum.

This role is a part-time position with a starting hourly wage of $18.00, 8:45am to 4:45pm, on Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from mid-April to December. December through mid-April the hours are three days a week, one of which must be a Saturday or a Sunday.

Historic Deerfield, a museum of history and decorative arts in Western Massachusetts, seeks Visitor Services Associates (VSAs). VSAs provide exceptional customer service and front-of-house experiences to Historic Deerfield’s visiting public at two separate ticketing sites. VSAs provide orientation information, wayfinding, membership information, and ticket sales to Historic Deerfield’s visitors. VSAs also serve as security for museum collections in gallery settings. Reporting to the Lead Visitor Services Associate, this role is a part-time, in-person, un-benefitted position with a starting wage of $15.00 per hour, 8:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., excluding one half hour for lunch. LEAD VISITOR SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Historic Deerfield, a museum of history and decorative arts in Western Massachusetts, seeks a Lead Visitor Services Associate. This position is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supporting the staff of part-time Visitor Services Associates in their role of providing exceptional customer service and front-of-house experiences to Historic Deerfield’s visiting public at two separate ticketing sites. Visitor Services Associates provide welcoming information, wayfinding, gallery monitoring, and ticket sales to Historic Deerfield’s visitors. The Lead Visitor Services Associate is responsible for ensuring a smooth, quick, and helpful first encounter for Historic Deerfield’s visitors.

Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, this role is a full-time, benefit-eligible position with a starting wage of $15.50 per hour. Thirty-five hours per week. During HD’s Open Season, mid-April through November: Wednesday to Sunday, 8:45 to 4:45 with one half-hour break for lunch. During HD’s Closed Season, December through mid-April: Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 to 4:30 with one half-hour break for lunch. If possible, the Lead Visitor Services Associate will not be scheduled one weekend per month during Historic Deerfield’s open season of mid-April through November.

This role provide visitor orientation, basic interpretation, and public supervision in self-guided museum spaces and houses. Museum Aides also support and contribute to Historic Deerfield programming, including group tours, school field trips, public programs, and special events.
