2025 Wreath Making Workshops

Help create beautiful natural wreaths to decorate the doorways of Deerfield!

This December, there will be five in-person workshop sessions (with a possible sixth depending on availability). You may also opt to make your wreath at home. In-person workshops will be limited to 30 makers. You must pre-register your participation whether in-person or at-home. No walk-ins allowed.

The workshop, pick-up, and delivery schedule will run from Sunday, November 30 to Wednesday, December 3 at the Deerfield Community Center. There will be two shifts of in-person workshops on Monday and Tuesday and one shift on Wednesday. Supply pick-up times will be scheduled on Sunday and Monday and finished wreath delivery will take place on Wednesday. The schedule for November 30–December 3 is below.

If you choose the at-home option, please choose your pick-up time on Sunday or Monday. Your delivery time will be scheduled when you pick up. Space is limited, so we encourage people to register as soon as possible!

Historic Deerfield provides the primary greens of the wreaths plus a wreath frame and a wire paddle for all makers. In addition, we obtain decorative materials, like winterberry, lemons, oranges, and cranberries, that can be used by all wreath makers. Decorative additions that will last from year-to-year have been saved and will be available for use.

We encourage all wreath makers to bring natural materials they have collected to supplement the supply of decorations. The decorative materials we especially need from volunteers include all the various items that do not last from year-to-year such as holly, arborvitae, winterberry, decorative grasses, dried flowers, pods, and leaves like laurel and gingko.

All volunteers will be assigned a house for their wreath. If you are willing to make matching wreaths for a double door, please indicate that on the form with the question below the door preference list.

At-home wreath delivery by appointment

The Dismantling Party will be on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 3:00 p.m. at the Deerfield Community Center. The registration form has a Yes/No question to sign up to attend the party.
